Alan Freeman

September 3, 1958 — August 27, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan Perry "Rooster" Freeman, of Dallas, GA, who peacefully left us on August 27, 2024, at the age of 65. Alan will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 13 years, Marti Rakestraw Freeman; his cherished children, April Brumelow and husband Matt; Alan "AJ" Freeman; his grandchildren, Jett and Knox Brumelow; and his dear siblings, Mark Freeman and wife Mary, Angie Thomas and husband Allen, and brother-in-law Todd Rakestraw and partner Paul. His memory will also be held dear by his step-children Brad Sosebee and wife Jaquita, Chase Gazaway, Onva Graham and husband Cooper; his step-grandchildren, Foster and Brie Graham, Parker Graham, Nola, Ace, and Sonny Sosebee, and Anna Gazaway.

A man of faith, strength and kindness, Alan - known fondly as "Rooster" by many - touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. He was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Dallas. Before retiring, Alan spent 35 years with Lockheed where he was Managing Inspector. In his spare time, he enjoyed the sport of racing, being out in nature, traveling, and listening to Gospel music. Alan's legacy of love and dedication to his family will be forever cherished and remembered. Alan was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Virginia Freeman, and brother Steve Freeman.

In honor of his life, visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Alan's life will follow on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at the Sam Clark Chapel. These services will provide an opportunity for all who shared in Alan's life to come together, pay their respects, and find solace in each other's presence.

Though Alan may have departed from our earthly realm, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and that he will be profoundly missed.
