Margaret McGarity passed away peacefully on September 4, 2022. She was born on December 29, 1940 to the late Reverend Claude and Annie Reeves. Margaret was a devoted member of New Beginnings Baptist Church where she faithfully served her Lord. She played piano every Sunday and loved being apart of her church. Margaret loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she loved her late husband, Lee, she loved her family, and her furry companion, Bentley. Margaret worked for the Paulding County School District as a bus monitor for special needs children. She adored those kids and made it her passion to help them in any way she could. She was a selfless woman and always put the needs of others before her own. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who was so loved and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Lee McGarity and her brothers, Bobby Reeves, Junior Reeves, and Hugh Reeves. Margaret is survived by her children, Rhonda (Wade) Sutton, Leighanne (Jim) Plemons, and Bryan (Shannon) McGarity; her sister, Carolyn (Norman) Wills; grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Gribben, Kyle Sutton, Kristen (Ben) Huckeba, Jade (Clay) Goin; great- grandchildren, Jackson Gribben, Tucker Gribben, Cooper Gribben, Millie Gribben, Luelle Huckeba, Lauralei "Lettie" Huckeba, Kaiden Goin, Damon Goin, and Aria Goin who is on the way.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Satuday, September 10, 2022 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. McGarity will begin at 3:00pm with her son, Bryan McGarity officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Margaret's honor towards the Special Olympics.
