Michael McCallie

Michael McCallie, age 61, of Temple, GA. passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Emory Hospital. He was born on February 26, 1958 in Dallas, GA, to the late E.J. and Juanita McCallie. He was self employed and worked as a carpenter for 45 years. Mr. McCallie loved to go fishing and hunting, as well as playing golf, tennis and baseball. He also enjoyed painting and reading his Bible. Michael was a loving husband, father and brother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Shirley Thurmond.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 21 years, Tammie McCallie of Temple, GA, , daughter, Tabatha and Cory Miller of Yorkville, GA, sons; J.D. Clancy of Dallas, GA, Jarred McCallie of Temple, GA, siblings; Wayne and Carol McCallie, Kathy and David Harrell, Eugene and Gina McCallie, Clarissa and Donnie Smith, Joseph and Kim McCallie, Benjamin McCallie and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. McCallie will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Powell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 1, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Michaels honor.
