Jack Tibbitts, age 95, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Tranquility of Cobb. Mr. Tibbitts was born on March 29, 1923 in Dallas, GA, to the late Maston and Frances Tibbitts. Jack joined The United States Army and during WWII he was the bakery cook at the 6th Army headquarters. Jack and his wife, Idell owned and operated Tibbitts Print Shop. He was an ordained deacon for 65 years and a faithful member of Narroway Baptist Church. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, his 6 sisters and son-in-laws; Bill Allen and Richard Rainey.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 75 years, Idell Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, son, Teddy Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, daughters; Pat Allen of Marietta, GA, Carolyn Rainey of Dallas, GA, grandchildren; Tracey and Rudy Griffin of Dallas, GA, Chris Tibbitts and Paige Redd of Smyrna, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Tibbitts will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Narroway Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Tibbitts and Rev. Hershel Tibbitts officiating. Mr. Tibbitts will lie in state at the church on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Narroway Baptist Church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the active deacons. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be inactive deacons and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
