Leon Thomas Barber age 87 of Leesburg, AL, formerly of Paulding County, Ga., passed away Friday, December 18, 2009. He was born July 2, 1922 in Paulding County, GA, son of the late Thomas Poletius and Nova Davis Barber. Mr. Barber was a WWll Navy Veteran and a member of New Georgia Baptist Church, a charter member of New Georgia Ruritan Club, American Legion, Bartlett Lodge #139 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife of 64 yrs Sarah Frances Barber, Leesburg, AL., Daughter Gail and Tom Wilson, Leesburg, AL. Son Tommy and Lisa Barber, Dallas, GA. Grandchildren Tammy and Kenneth Revelle, Dallas, GA. , Rachel and Bob Sleppy, Athens, GA. , Banks Barber, Dallas, GA., Great grandchildren Kayla Revelle, Kara Revelle, Emily Revelle, Finley Sleppy.
Funeral services will be held Monday December 21, 2009 at 3pm from Clark Funeral Home with Brother Charles Bice and Dr. Jim Burdette officiating with Interment to follow in Melrose Hills. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home Sunday December 20, 2009 from 4-8pm.
