Mary Catherine Mitek

Mary Catherine Mitek, age 88, of Acworth, GA, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017. She was born on July 27, 1928, in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph & Margaret Sloboda. Mrs. Mitek was a professional accordionist and played in various clubs in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and New York City. Through the years, Mary Catherine and her husband, Ben, travelled throughout the United States, Far East and Europe. They also enjoyed the many cruises they went on. Mary Catherine and Ben were avid fishermen and owned a number of boats through the years, they also enjoyed bowling, reading and the Miami football and baseball teams.
Survivors include loving husband of 66 years, Benjamin Mitek of Acworth, GA; nephew, Bob & Becky Mitek of Dallas, GA, and sister, Virginia; two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 12 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Father Adrian Pleus officiating.
