Mary Dean Mitchell, age 97, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017. She was born on January 11, 1920, in Hiram, GA, to the late Jesse & Myrdle Hitchcock, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Kyle Mitchell, sisters, Nellie Allen, Aline Ellis, Willette Williams, and brothers, J. Felt Hitchcock and Jessie Collins Hitchcock. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Jack & Barbara Mitchell of Hiram, GA, and Joe & Wanda Mitchell of Hiram, GA; sisters, Marjorie Hulsey of Atlanta, GA, Edna Neeley of Bartow County, GA, and Retha Brown of Temple, GA; grandchildren, Kelley &Robbie Butler of Hiram, GA and Rob & Heather Mitchell of Hiram, GA; great-grandchildren, Rachel Foster, Mitchell Butler, Robin Mitchell, Rebecca Mitchell and Jillian Mitchell; great-great-grandchild, Phoenix Foster; several nieces and nephews, and a number of relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 4 PM, from Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Beverly Casstevens officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 3 PM until the service time.
