Lisa FranklinMarch 30, 1960 ~ October 17, 2017 (age 57)
Lisa Brown Franklin, 57 of Dallas Georgia, was called home by God on Tuesday October 17th 2017 after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. You would not know it by talking to her or seeing her that she had cancer. She was amazing and the bravest woman on this earth. Lisa was a beautiful person both inside and out. She loved without limits, gave without thought, and always had a smile to share as well as a hug to give. If you were a friend you were family. She was a doting daughter, a caring sister, a fun grandma, a kind aunt, a spectacular, supportive, and outstanding mother anyone could have ever asked for. She was a devoted friend and a loving wife.
Lisa was born on March 30th 1960 in Teaneck New Jersey. She graduated from Hackensack High School and had a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Incarnate Word College as well as a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in physical education. She was one credit away from her master's degree in special education through the University of Phoenix. She was a proud Staff Sergeant in the United States Army for 15 years, 2 years Active Duty, 13 years Army Reserve, and was named Soldier of the Year. She enjoyed watching movies, dancing, singing, and playing with her dogs, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Lisa is preceded in death by her husband Rodger Dale Franklin Sr. and stepdaughter Julia Franklin Rhodes.
She is survived by her parents Bill and Julie Brown, her daughters Mary Ann Hartley and Sherri Marie Jackson her stepson Rodger Dale Franklin Jr., and her brother Roger Brown and sister Shelley Rodriguez, as well as two nieces, two nephews, and 14 grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life memorial service on December 10th, 2017 at 2pm at the Paulding Senior Center in Dallas, Ga. It was her request that we have a party. Celebrate her life no tears or morning. Her favorite color was red. It would be fun to see everyone in some form of red in her honor.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in the name of Lisa Franklin to the Colon Cancer Alliance so that she may continue to make a difference in the world even through her passing.
