Jack Royal

Jack Royal, age 75, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center in Dallas.  Jack was born on April 1, 1942, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Clarence and Mary Sue Smith Royal, and was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Joe Royal, and sisters, Marilyn Murray and Tina Buffington. A 1961 graduate of Campbell High School, he served his country in the US Marine Corps Reserve from 1961 until 1967. On March 30, 1962, Jack married Betty Joye Lewis and together they had two daughters. Jack worked more than 50 years as an industrial electrician. In 1993, he founded Royal Electric Contractors, which he ran until his retirement in 2004.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Jack was known for his generous spirit and as a man of his word. While an avid hunter and outdoorsman, Jack most enjoyed spending time with his family. He also was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Georgia.

Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joye Royal; their two daughters, Dayna Syverson, of Dallas, GA, and Denise (Wendell) Etheridge of Dallas, GA; five grandchildren, Blake Lenane, Andrea (Phillip) Carroll, Dylan Syverson, Jordan Etheridge and Sydney Syverson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 3 PM, at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta HWY, Hiram, GA 30141, with Reverend Jeremy Lundy presiding. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave, Marietta, GA 30064. Wendell Etheridge, Blake Lenane, Taylor Rampley, Fred Bandy, Bob Lewis, and Larry Robinson will serve as pallbearers.  George Brown, and Doug Nally will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will greet friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 1 PM until the time of service.
